Happy Retirement, Miss Kitty!
  
After 30 years of reading to the children of Homer Township, Miss Kitty has
decided to retire and enjoy a new phase in her life.
 
The week of May 7thhas been designated "Farewell Week” as the community
 is encouraged to stop in and say goodbye.
  
There will also be a memory box and journal in the library. Feel free to drop
off drawings, photos, or write comments or messages to Miss Kitty.
 
 Her last day will be Wednesday, May 16th..

Teen Intern Program:
Applications Now Available!
 
Need service hours? Interested in volunteering in your community? Become a Teen Intern at the library this summer!
 
The Teen Intern Program is open to teens in 6th grade and up (as of Fall 2012). Shifts are usually limited to 1-3 hours per week (from June 11 through July 21) and schedules are on a first come, first served basis. Interns participate in various Summer Reading Program activities of their choosing, such as the reading desk & helping with various childrens programming.
 
The application for the Teen Intern Program is here. If you are interested in working the Summer Reading Desk, you must also choose your shift here (but don't forget to fill out the application, too!).

Honoring Hometown Hero PFC Michael C. Olivieri

The staff of the Homer Township Public Library would like to extend our thanks to those who paid tribute to PFC Michael C. Olivieri by lining the streets of Homer Glen during his funeral procession. Posters can be dropped off at the library and will be given to the Olivieri family.

The Olivieri family requests donations to fund a Heroes Quiet Reading Room, honoring all courageous military personnel who serve our country. Please make donations to the Homer Township Public Library Olivieri Memorial. Donations or cards should be sent to:
