USED BOOK SALE: DONATIONS WANTED

We are accepting donations for our Used Book Sale from July 20-August 6 during library hours. We accept gently used books, music, and DVDs. Unfortunately, we cannot accept textbooks, VHS, magazines, encyclopedias, or items in poor condition.

Don't miss the book sale on Friday, August 7th from 8:30am - 4pm and Saturday, August 8th from 8:30am- 3pm — note the early opening times on these days! On Monday, August 10th from 8:30am - 9pm, patrons can fill a library bag for $5 ("green" bags are included in the cost.) See you there!

DIY SHARK BANK CONTEST!

Get ready for Sh
ark Week with the return of our DIY Shark Bank Contest! A $2 fee entitles you to a 4" ceramic shark bank & entry into the contest. Banks may be picked up at the library's front desk beginning July 1, with decorated sharks being returned by August 15.

Public judging takes place August 17-22. Prizes will be awarded in four categories: Music Theme, Book Theme, Most Creative, and Editor's Choice (chosen by the Editor of the Homer Horizon). We can't wait to see your shark!

WELCOME TO THE 1,000 BOOKS BEFORE KINDERGARTEN PROGRAM!

This free program encourages you to read 1,000 books with your child before he or she enters school. One of the best ways to encourage learning is to spend time sharing books every day.

By reading just three stories a day you and your child will have read over 1,000 books in one year. You will also have shared many special moments along the way. Join this fun program today!

AFTER HOURS PICK-UP

                  Working late and can't make it to the Library                    to pick up your reserves?
Try our new after-hours pickup service!
 
Homer Township Public Library has 12 lockers where you can pick up materials even when the library is closed.

To request after-hours pickup, call us at 708-301-7908 with your library card number. Your materials will be checked out to you and placed in a locker for you to pick up.

Your account must be in good standing, and you must call at least two (2) hours before our closing time to have your items placed in a locker. Items will be held for 24 hours.

The lockers are located to the left of the entry doors around the corner under the overhang.
