BEANSTACK HELP

Beankstack allows you to:

  • Keep track of all family members’ reading logs, progress, and badges on one account.
  • Log reading from home or on the go to earn badges.
  • Complete activities to earn more badges.
  • Use the Beanstack Tracker App to keep track of all reading and activities quickly and easily.

 

Using a computer

Getting Started on the Computer:

  1. Go to the Library’s Beanstack URL: 
  2. Account Creator: Scroll down and select the red “Register an individual or family” button. If you are registering yourself or making a family account, select register yourself. Fill out the form and click “Next.” You will receive a notification that you have unlocked your first badge, a “registration badge.” Click the “X” on the badge notification.
  3. Once the Account Creator selects the “Next” button, Beanstack will ask if you would like to register another adult (select ‘yes’ or ‘no’) and then whether you would like to register another child (select ‘yes’ or ‘no’).
  4. A notification at the bottom of the screen will alert you that you are successfully registered.

 

Getting to Know the Program:

At the top of the page you will see several links.

  •  Badges: shows badges when you have completed achievements in a program.
  •  Reading Log: shows readings hours logged
  •  Reviews:  shows the reviews that you and other readers from our library have written.
  •  Switch Readers/Edit Readers: Allows for easy switching between all Reader’s accounts.
  • Settings: Add a reader, Edit information- email  notifications, or deactivate a reader’s account, and/or signout.

 

Raffles - As you accumulate badges, you will get virtual raffle tickets along the way for prize drawings (frequency varies by age group’s program).

  • Select Drawings. You will see the number of tickets you have available.
  • Scroll through the drawings and select a drawing you would like to enter. Choose the amount of ticket(s) you would like to use for that drawing. You do not have to use all of your tickets for one drawing.

 

Using the Beanstack Tracker App

Getting Started on the Beanstack Tracker App

  • Download the app for FREE from your device’s app store: Android or iOs
  • Select “Get Started.”
  • 3. When it asks if your School, Library, or Bookstore uses Beanstack, choose "Yup!"
  • Type in the search bar: Homer Township Public Library . Click on the library name when it pops up.
  • Select the "Don’t have an account?" Sign up at the bottom of the screen. Fill out your information and reader profile. If you are making a family account, select “Add Another Reader.” Fill out the reader's information and reader profile.

 

To Log Books and Minutes:

  • Click on the plus sign and "Reading."
  • Then choose “Scan ISBN” or “Manually Enter Title Info.” Scan the barcode on the back of the book which will automatically load the information or type in the title and select the book.
  • Click “Save” and you will want to use one of these choices:

a. “Start a Reading Session” which will start a timer and automatically log minutes to your account once you hit done.

OR

b. “Log Past Reading” where you can add time you have already read.

To Log Activities:

  • Click the plus sign and choose “Activity.”
  • Select the activity track you wish to log in.
  • Complete the activities and click the boxes next to the ones you finish.
