Program Type: Storytime

Do you love food? Well who doesn’t?! You are invited to go on a culinary adventure to celebrate and explore things that are eaten. Books highlighted this week are just a few of the wonderful items that help you experience new people and animals, places and foods!

ACTIVITY: Make and enjoy some Potato soup with help from an adult!

INGREDIENTS

Potato cubes

Diced carrots

Celery

Onion

Vegetable stock

Shredded cheddar cheese

Cream

Chopped scallions – optional

INSTRUCTIONS

1. In a pan, add the potatoes, carrots, celery, onion and vegetable stock.

2. Cover with a lid and cook on medium heat until the vegetables are tender. Remove from the heat.

3. Before you serve the soup, add the cheese and cream. Serve with scallions.

COLORING PAGE: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!
