Reserving Items
Looking for a book and it’s not available at our library? You can reserve the item by placing a hold on it. Some new titles are in high demand and have long lists of patrons on hold. You can place holds in person, by telephone, or online. After notification, materials will be held for 6 days.
To reserve items online, log in to your library account with your library card number and PIN.
Reserved materials are available for self pick-up inside the library. They are filed alphabetically by your last name.

Homer Township Library is Fine Free!
What is Fine Free?
“No fines” does not mean “no due dates.” Materials are expected to be returned on time. Reminders and overdue notices will still be sent out. If you don’t return an item, a lost item fee will appear on your account and checkout privileges will be suspended. If you lose materials or return items with damage, there will be a replacement cost. Wi-fi hotspots, inter-library loans, equipment, etc. are excluded from being fine-free.
Overdue Items
Library users will receive overdue notices at 7, 14, 21, and 30 days overdue. When an item is 44 days overdue, your account will be suspended and an invoice for the cost of the item will go out. This means no new checkouts until the overdue item is returned or paid for. Replacement fees for damaged/lost items are the responsibility of the library user.
Using Your Card at Other Libraries
If you use your library card at a neighboring library, Homer Library cardholders will be charged overdue fines according to that library’s overdue policies. Our fine-free program applies to materials owned and checked out by the Homer Library.
