Join Mel Tracy from Wild Birds Unlimited as he discusses how to participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) and shares stories about birds from his own backyard. GBBC is a fun, simple four-day event (February 18 - 21) that engages bird watchers of all ages in counting birds to create a real-time snapshot of bird populations. Scientists use the data to help guide bird conservation efforts. Anyone can take part in GBBC, from beginning bird watchers to experts, and you can participate anywhere in the world!

Participants are asked to count birds for as little as 15 minutes (or as long as they wish) on one or more days of the event and report their sightings.  We will discuss how to Identify the different species you might see and discuss ways to attract a wide variety of birds to your yard. GBBC is a fun and meaningful way to spend time connecting with the natural world around us.

This program will take place online on Zoom. A link will be emailed to all registered patrons shortly before the program. Don't see the email? Check your spam folder!
