Want a free teen book? Want to learn how to make a zine (a homemade mini magazine)? Want to get creative & have fun? Don’t miss this program! Upon registering, teens will receive a free copy of the graphic memoir Little Fish: A Memoir from a Different Kind of Year by Ramsey Beyer, which explores Beyer’s first year of college through illustrations, diary entries, comic panels, and lists. At the program, we’ll talk to the author over Skype about her story. Then we’ll look through examples of zines and each create a page for a collaborative zine that we’ll make as a group. Teens will go home with more free stuff to encourage you to keep writing, including a journal and zines! Registration required. For teens in grades 6-12.

Funding for this program is generously provided by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation and the Young Adult Library Services Association (YALSA) as part of their Teen Read Week grant program.
