April is National Poetry Month, celebrating the joy, expressiveness, and pure delight of poetry. Check out the Children's Poet Laureate websites for lots of fun activities, experience some some great read alouds and animated poems for kids. Print the attached activity sheets for more poetry fun. Each day holds new, interesting poetry pleasures.

The U.S. Children's Poet Laureate is a position and award that was established by the Poetry Foundation in 2006. Jacqueline Woodson was the fifth Children's Poet Laureate from 2015-2017.
