April is National Poetry Month, celebrating the joy, expressiveness, and pure delight of poetry.  heck out the Children's Poet Laureate websites for lots of fun activities, experience some some great read alouds and animated poems for kids. Print the attached activity sheets for more poetry fun. Each day holds new, interesting poetry pleasures.

The U.S. Children's Poet Laureate is a position and award that was established by the Poetry Foundation in 2006. J. Patrick Lewis was the third Children's Poet Laureate from 2011-2012.

In July of 2020, we celebrated the Apollo Moon landing. Read FIRST MEN ON THE MOON by J. Patrick Lewis to relive the excitement of the day!
