Rita Woods will discuss how her newest novel, Remembrance, came about, the publishing process, and a short reading from the book. There will also be a Q&A session and book signing.

Remembrance is a historical fantasy that takes place over 3 centuries, starting at the beginning of the Haitian Revolution. It follows the story of Abigail who is forced to abandoned her children in Haiti and follow her mistress to New Orleans.

She escapes slavery and using her own mysterious powers and the forces of voodoo, she travels to Ohio where she creates Remembrance, a parallel world that exists outside the world and a stop on the Underground Railroad, and over which she only she has control, though as time passes her powers are beginning to wane, risking everything.

It is the story of four women, all with different powers connected across time, all forced by loss to claim their power.
