On March 2nd we will celebrate a great author’s birthday, Dr. Seuss’s Birthday. Dr. Seuss has made major contributions to children’s literature and is said to have made reading fun for children again. His 1957 book The Cat in the Hat that made him a household name.
READ ALOUD: The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the Library's website for other books to enjoy.
ACTIVITY: We have all read Dr. Seuss’s book and have our favorites that we could read over and over again, but what about the books that ones that weren’t as popular? Try out a book that you haven’t read before, or one that you aren’t as familiar with. There's “Bartholomew and the Oobleck” and “The Butter Battle Book.” He's also written sequels to some of his classics like “Horton Hatches the Egg.”
COLORING SHEET: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!
