Winter can be SNOW much fun! Enjoy read aloud stories featuring sledding, skating and some special snow people. Activities, videos and coloring sheets add to your winter fun.

READ ALOUD: I Really, REALLY Need Actual Ice Skates - A Charlie and Lola story by Lauren Child. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the Library's website for other books to enjoy.

VIDEO: Learn to skate in under 3 minutes. Rebecca Marsh from the University of Alberta teaches you how to lace up, protect your head, get onto the ice, take a fall, glide, and come to a stop.

ACTIVITY: Skate on paper plates indoors! Place two paper plates on the floor and put one foot on each plate. The paper plates stick better without socks, however, if want to keep your socks on, you can always tape your feet to the plates. Glide across the floor with your paper plate “skates.” Then turn on some rocking music and have an ice-skating dance party!

COLORING SHEET: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!

Visit the library website calendar for more activities this week.
