Event Details

Join us every day this week for Science Story Time! A science themed story is paired with a related video, a simple activity and a coloring sheet. Each day has a different story, video, activity and coloring sheet to engage your budding scientist!

Book: National Geographic Rocks and Minerals by Kathleen Weidner Zoehfeld. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the Library's website for other books to enjoy.

Video: 3 Types of Rocks and The Rock Cycle: Igneous, Sedimentary, Metamorphic

Activity: Collect 10 small rocks. Are the rocks smooth or bumpy? Are the rocks the same shape and color? What colors can you see in each rock? Paint one of the rocks with a happy face, a rainbow, or something else that makes you smile!

Coloring Sheet: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!
