Kindness improves the quality of life in our homes as well as in the community. It brings people together. Doing good for others feels good. Showing kindness to others is just as rewarding as receiving it from someone else.

READ ALOUD: What does It Mean to Be Kind? by Rana DiOrio. This is a story that shows us how a little kindness can make a BIG difference…and it is not hard to do! Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the library’s website for other books to enjoy.

VIDEO: The Science of Kindness

ACTIVITY: Make a calendar for this week and title it “7 Day Kindness Challenge”.  Color your calendar and write in ideas to show your acts of kindness for the week. Clean up your work area as an act of kindness and respect for your art supplies.

COLORING SHEET: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!

Visit the library website calendar for more stories and activities each day this week.
