Kindness improves the quality of life in our homes as well as in the community. It brings people together. Doing good for others feels good. Showing kindness to others is just as rewarding as receiving it from someone else.

READ ALOUD: Listening with My Heart: A Story of Kindness & Self -Compassion by Gabi Garcia. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the library’s website for other books to enjoy.

VIDEO: Care Bears Being Respectful of Others.

ACTIVITY: Today, make cards and notes for spreading kindness. Get some paper, any color that you have, and write some kind messages on the paper. Some messages could be “you are awesome”, “you brighten my day”, “have an awesome day”, “thanks for making me smile today”, “you rock!", “you do great work”, or "you are my friend”.  Put these notes in your mom’s purse, the seat of your dad’s car, on your brother or sister’s pillow!

COLORING SHEET: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!

Visit the library website calendar for more stories and activities each day this week.
