Lots of families travel during the summer. But maybe this year you have no such plans. Instead, this week, you can visit Egypt, Australian, Africa, Europe (with Spiderman), get a close look at airplanes or travel with animal characters just by reading a book. Books highlighted this week are a few of the wonderful items that help you travel to and experience new people, places and things!
READ ALOUD: Over in Australia - Amazing Animals Down Under by Marianne Berkes. Check out Hoopla, available on the library’s website, to enjoy a selection of great travel books online!
VIDEO: Australia - Destination World National Geographic Kids. Experience the only continent that’s an island on this episode of “Destination World.” Australia, also known as the Land Down Under, has some of the most unique wildlife in the world.
ACTIVITY: Learn about Aboriginal Dot Paintings - Cut out a boomerang shape from a cardboard box and practice making your own dot painting art with Q-tips.
