Lots of families travel during the summer. But maybe this year you have no such plans. Instead, this week, you can visit Egypt, Australian, Africa, Europe (with Spiderman), get a close look at airplanes or travel with animal characters just by reading a book. Books highlighted this week are a few of the wonderful items that help you travel to and experience new people, places and things!

READ ALOUD: We’re Sailing Down the Nile by Laurie Krebs and Anne Wilson. Check out Hoopla, available on the library’s website, to enjoy a selection of great travel books online!

VIDEO: Egypt: Pyramids-Are We There Yet? National Geographic Kids. Joanna and Julia journey to Egypt to see the world famous pyramids and Great Sphinx. On their adventure, they ride camels, participate in a dig, read hieroglyphics and explore the inside of a pyramid.

ACTIVITY: Write your name in Hieroglyphics. Check out hieroglyphic symbols at Fascinating Facts about Hieroglyphics by National Georgraphic Kids.

COLORING PAGE: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!
