Celebrate Independence Day with patriotic stories, videos, coloring sheets, kids’ games and activities for the whole family! Learn about the meaning and history of 4th of July while having fun on this special holiday!

Read aloud: My Fourth of July by Jerry Spinelli. Use Hoopla, available on the library’s website, to enjoy a selection of great Independence Day books online!

Video: Explosive 4th of July Hacks by Life Hacks for Kids.

Activity: Create a red, white, and blue dessert to share. Put a slices of banana, blueberries, and strawberries on a skewer. Add blueberries, and strawberries to vanilla ice cream.Make a birthday cake for the USA! Add color with food coloring and sprinkles.

Coloring sheet: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!
