Celebrate Independence Day with patriotic stories, videos, coloring sheets, kids’ games and activities for the whole family! Learn about the meaning and history of 4th of July while having fun on this special holiday!

Read aloud: Lady Liberty’s Holiday by Jen Arena. Use Hoopla, available on the library’s website, to enjoy a selection of great Independence Day books online!

Activity: Bake an American Flag Pizza: Make, bake and eat a pizza that looks like the American flag! Roll out pizza dough into a square. Spread tomato sauce on the dough, sprinkle lines of cheese over the tomato sauce for stripes and put pepperoni or white cheese in the corner for stars. Use a mini star-shaped cookie cutter to cut your pepperoni or cheese for the corner.

Coloring sheet: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!
