Look up and discover the wonders of the night sky. From ancient times to the present day, sailors have used the stars and planets to navigate their course. Come on a journey this week that will hopefully develop a curiosity about the great expanse of our universe.

READ ALOUD: Meet Me At the Moon by Gianno Marino. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the Library’s website for other books to enjoy.

VIDEO: Moon 101 by National Geographic.

ACTIVITY: There’s a full moon out tonight!  Print a calendar to track the phases of the moon. Draw the shape of the moon you see every night on your chart and watch how it goes from being as full as tonight’s moon than gets smaller and smaller until it grows bigger and bigger until September 2nd when it’s big and full again.

COLORING PAGE: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!

Visit the library website calendar for more activities each day this week.
