Look up and discover the wonders of the night sky. From ancient times to the present day, sailors have used the stars and planets to navigate their course. Come on a journey this week that will hopefully develop a curiosity about the great expanse of our universe.

READ ALOUD: Zoo in the Sky: A Book of Animal Constellations by Jaqueline Mitton. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the Library’s website for other books to enjoy.

VIDEO: What are Stars? by Sci Show Kids. Find out what makes stars what they are, and take a tour of some of the most extreme stars in space!

ACTIVITY: On a clear evening, spend some time outside looking at the stars together. Make a star wheel or try a star gazing app to identify constellations in the night sky.

COLORING PAGE: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!

Visit the library website calendar for more activities each day this week.
