Look up and discover the wonders of the night sky. From ancient times to the present day, sailors have used the stars and planets to navigate their course. Come on a journey this week that will hopefully develop a curiosity about the great expanse of our universe.

READ ALOUD: There’s No Place Like Space by Tish Rabe from The Cat in the Hat Learning Library. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the Library’s website for other books to enjoy.

ACTIVITY: Are you addicted to space yet? After reading about the moon and stars, tracking the lunar cycle, making models of the constellations, and going outside for some good old fashioned star gazing, you are all probably begging for a visit to your nearest planetarium or observatory. The Adler Planetarium is closed until further notice because of the pandemic; however, stay in touch by visiting their website.

COLORING PAGE: Print the attachment and decorate with crayons, paint, stickers or whatever inspires you!

Visit the library website calendar for more activities each day this week.
