Spring is in full swing. Summer is round the corner! The weather is warmer and warmer. All nature is bursting with greenery and lots of amazing colors. Time to get out in the sun for fresh air and to get dirty in the garden. Tending to your own garden is very rewarding. You can plant flowers and/or vegetables. So come along with us on a gardening journey this week!

Read Aloud: Up, Down and Around by Katherine Ayres. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the Library's website for other books to enjoy.

Video: Vegetable Song for Kids. Learn vegetable names and practice the alphabet.

Activity: Grow your own plant!! Ask a grown up to get you a little pot of an herb (i.e. basil, mint, chives), a bigger flower pot and some rich potting soil. Place soil in the bigger pot, put your little herb plant in it and top it with more soil. Keep your pot in the sun outside or inside. Water well right away! Do not let your plant dry out, watch it grow and add some leaves to different dishes!

Coloring page: Print and decorate the Vegetable Garden coloring sheet with crayons, markers, stickers or whatever inspires you! Guess what vegetables are in that garden!
