Spring is in full swing. Summer is round the corner! The weather is warmer and warmer. All nature is bursting with greenery and lots of amazing colors. Time to get out in the sun for fresh air and to get dirty in the garden. Tending to your own garden is very rewarding. You can plant flowers and/or vegetables. So come along with us on a gardening journey this week!

Read Aloud: Plants Can't Sit Still by Rebecca E. Hirsch. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the Library's website for other books to enjoy.

Video: Five Main Parts of a Plant – a Song about Plants. A plant has five main parts that help it find water, make food, and grow tall. It needs all of these parts to stay strong. Curious to know what role do they play exactly? Just watch this song...

Activity: Today we have a guessing game. Can you think of different parts of vegetables that we can eat? What root vegetables can we eat? What veggie stems can be eaten? How about edible leaves? How about fruits and flowers that grow on vegetables? What vegetable seeds do we eat? How well you know vegetables? What did you learn today?

Coloring page: Print and decorate the Vegetables coloring sheet with crayons, markers, stickers or whatever inspires you!
