Spring is in full swing. Summer is round the corner! The weather is warmer and warmer. All nature is bursting with greenery and lots of amazing colors. Time to get out in the sun for fresh air and to get dirty in the garden. Tending to your own garden is very rewarding. You can plant flowers and/or vegetables. So come along with us on a gardening journey this week!

Read Aloud: Sunflower House by Eve Bunting. Also, check out Hoopla and Tumble Book Library on the Library's website for other books to enjoy.

Video: Peep and the Big Wide World: Peep Plants a Seed. Peep discovers a patch of sunflowers and decides to grow one for himself.

Activity: Ask your parents if they could help you create a sunflower house just like the one in the book above! Or maybe you can plant some sunflower seeds on the sunny edges of your backyard or in a flower or vegetable garden. Remember to keep watering them well and watch the magic happen! When the sunflowers wither in the fall, try eating their seeds. They are very healthy!

Coloring page: Print and decorate the Sunflower coloring sheet with crayons, markers, stickers or whatever inspires you!

Visit the library website calendar for more Get Gardening activities each day this week.
